The Story...

Crooner/songwriter Brian Kremer sprinkles standards made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby into his sets of original, often melancholy folk and country tunes. It makes for a classic-country-meets-40s-pop sound in which the former Grammy-nominated choral singer sounds right at home. Austin.com describes his music as “exquisitely pleasurable heartache.” PopMatters calls his first album “a polished, assured debut” and his voice “an evocative instrument in itself.” But a devoted fan says it best – “his words cut to the heart but his smooth voice soothes the wounds.”

Brian ambitiously released Climbing The Vine on his own label, Darling Echo Records, in the fall of 2008. This folk/rock labor of love features contributions by renowned Austin based musicians Cindy Cashdollar (Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Asleep at the Wheel) and the Tosca String Quartet (Waking Life, David Byrne). While Climbing the Vine is an impressive breakout album, its most significant contribution may yet be as a catalyst toward a refined direction in Kremer's current songwriting. His latest tunes, including “Don't Give Me Your Kisses" and "Out Of The Woods," maintain the folk and roots-based sound his fans have come to expect. Still, they shine ever more brightly with the timeless melodies that one might associate with legends like Nat King Cole or Willie Nelson. With his refined voice, Kremer is just the one to fulfill discerning music lovers’ search for these kinds of sophisticated tunes that could become an integral part of the new, classic American songbook.

Brian is building a loyal local fan base playing regular monthly shows with his band in Austin, TX. In 2010 he gained new admirers with two tours to NYC, Boston, and his home state of Vermont. 2011 brings Brian to Nashville in the spring and back to the Northeast in the fall as he makes plans for new recordings!
